Pretty decent acting and storyline. If you haven't watched, it's worthwhile. Philip Glenister is the DCI in it. John Simm is also in it (both from Life on Mars).

I see there's another one called 'state of play' with Helen Mirren in it... not yet sure what the connection is.

Found Shooting The Past.

It was quirky - storyline was iffy but the characters were interesting. Not on the top of my pile for sure but it was entertaining nonetheless. Was the difference between a gripping novel and an entertaining short story.

I thought Timothy Spall was brilliant. The ending seemed a bit rushed and contrived but a worthwhile watch just for the script and the stories told through photographs.

That's exactly what I do. I have a 40mbps Fibre line but just haven't had the inclination to sort out streaming.

Ditto. His character really grabbed me... he has the face for those last 30 minutes.
Actually made me think - I've always been a fan of historic photographs... hence why I like to keep up with Apoc's interesting pictures thread...
The fact that he was a Savant of sorts made it really interesting.

This show was pure comedic genius. I've never laughed as much as in the monkey episode. I think he is correct though: a 3rd season would have undone the brilliance of S01 and S02.
