Broadband Network Speeds in SA (August 2011)

I thought openweb would be at least in the "top 10" providers.
 
they resell bandwidth so never will they be on the list, because you will never see openweb as isp on speedtest :)

of course will change if they build there own network :)
 
Im happy to see Cell C is still pushing strong. #eish the new forum look gets to me in a negative way#
 
Funny results on SpeedTest.
The IS ADSL line has faster upload/download speeds but my 3G has lower ping/packet loss (the 3G is on VodaCom but also has an IS APN)
 
Wow... look at the graphs for WebAfrica and MTN. Solid stability! ATC and Cell C looking good too.

Interesting entry is Global Internet Access. Weren't they bought over by Netactive -> WorldOnline -> Tiscali -> MWEB? How is it possible that they exist?? Haven't heard a thing about this company in the last 5 years or so. Also, their graph looks the worst of the lot. Very unstable speeds.

Now how on earth is Cybersmart at the top? Have they been pushing lots of core network tests to skew the average? Very odd for a primarily ADSL provider to break 3mbps. WebAfrica is only sitting at 2.79mbps, and they are currently the best. Something really fishy there.
