That's the one I bought today which doesn't work. It's not APC.

Bought a cable from Scoop today and sadly it doesn't work. Only after more Googling now did I learn that you get different kinds of SC connectors, and that the colours may indicate this. The one I need is an APC 8°/9° angled connector, which I don't see at either Scoop or Cable Applications.
The search continues...

Hope you didn't damage the transmision end by trying to mate the u/pc connecteor with the apc interface, cause you might end up with bigger problems. I just checked our store, but we only use upc our side.

Don't think you'll come right going direct to dartcom though.

The best would be to contact your fibre provider or isp directly.

Got it working! Thank you all for the help and leads on where to find one.

Turns out Dartcom stocked the exact same manufacturer / part number cable as the one I'd broken. Bought the dual cable ripcord one and pulled off the one cord to put away safely in case my better half starts moving furniture around again.
