This is not new. Some earlier protests were very nearly as violent, and some much more destructive.

And that's just for feesmustfall.

It's costing the country half a bil now to rebuild schools in Vuwani now. God knows how much more for all violent protests. How many people injured?.. Killed?

Its time these violent protesters take a long hard look in the mirror and realise they have no right to complain about anything or even comment on anything - They are throwing those rights away brick by brick.

No reasonable person can believe such behavior is justified. Those security guards also have loved ones, children. They are people too.

What these protesters are doing is just plain criminal. They don't even deserve the privilege of higher education in my opinion.

I am stumped how we as society, and government, SAPS, etc. can allow our country to be this lawless. I just LOVE the precedent that we are setting for the future. Protests will just become more frequent, protests will just become more violent...

After #feesmustfall, what's next? The ANC also promised houses, they promised free electricity, free basic services... Where and when, are we going to pull the line?

BTW - It would be interesting if you DO do it, and use that video as your defense Seeing SA works on "case law," the precedent that it is allowed and it is acceptable, has pretty much been set... You'd have some interesting arguments using these protests as part of your defense in court IMHO
