Bryanston ADSL problems

Hi,

Got 40mb on LTE in Bryanston at Silverstream Office Park. Anyone interested?

Been informed by Telkom that an MSAN is being installed on 10th October. I've seen the slab, trunking and the cabinet going up in the last 3 weeks so I'm ever hopeful that this will hapen in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I'm still interested in LTE and fibre, but have agreed to give Telkom the opportunity to get the MSAN up this month

FYI for those in Bryanston area: The MSAN is being installed on the corner of Dundee and Logan - so if your line terminates there, you might be in luck as well

Do you by chance know if the white box on the corner of Mandeville and Chapel terminates at the MSAN on the corner of Dundee and Logan?

I'm like 50 meters from there and my line terminates in olivedale and I have 62dB attenuation :/

#$%!% stupid if you ask me.

Sounds very weird! I wouldn't be able to say where the box terminates, sorry. The best thing to do is tweet @telkomza. They respond quickly, but if they don't do anything, you keep posting public tweets and they'll end up doing something becasue of the negative publicity. Worked for me :). (@auntiefestus)
Let me know what happens.
Cheers

I have spoken to the techs that work there every other day...still no real go live date...

Santa is coming early this year!
If it wasn't for a burnt battery, the MSAN on Dundee would've been commissioned yesterday. The Telkom tech said it will be fixed and switched over before weeks end...40MB/s is what we can expect from the unit.

Excellent news!!! Holding as many thumbs as I can :-)

The cutover is scheduled for 24/10 starting at 08:00 the morning.
Hoping that there are no engineering issues that could delay the cutover but looks promising at the moment.
:D:D:D

Definitely good news. I hope you dates are correct - Telkom told me the cutover was only scheduled for 17 Nov

So my connection has been down for a few hours. I hope this is good news and that it means they are cutting me over to the MSAN today or tomorrow ;) and that they don't screw up and disconnect me totally.
PS has anyone ever received a useful answer from Telkom's call centre?
PPS How did you get the notice? I never get any comms from Telkom

HI, I looked up Telkom notice board on google...took me to where I can enter my number :)

Noticed an MSAN being built near corner William Nicol and Hobart, just after the Bryanston Shopping Center. Still early days for it though, it's just the cement foundation.

Oh, well, Monday morning and back to sub 0.2Mbps speeds (before the power also went out). So I can only assume that the cutover wasn't completed, sigh.....

I feel your pain... now when I check it says my number is not part of the upgrade? WTF.

Telkom has been putting me off for around 9 months. Each time it is either by blaming another party (usually the ISP) or telling me something will e done "in the next xx days" Then they just keep missing their deadlines or giving me another story. I've had it with them. As soon as Neotel has confirmed they will be able to supply fibre - I'm moving

Ok so apparently there are no live circuits running on the MSAN which means that the cutover did not happen as planned. I am waiting for feedback.....

Ok so here is the low down...

The MSAN cutover on Dundee Street was postponed to 25/11/2013 due to IMS and Softswitch platform problem.
