Does anyone know what the upgrade involved that took place over the weekend from 20 - 22 Sept in Bryanston area? I got an automated call from Telkom saying "we are upgrading your exchange your service will be interrupted". Then everything went down over weekend and back up again on Sunday. My number starts with 011 706....

I want to know what they upgraded and if I can maybe get VDSL in my area now?

Telkom 10210 doesn't even know about the "upgrade" or anything and www.telkom.co.za/checkadsl still says my exchange only supports up to 10mbps. Line's currently syncing at 6mbps.

Who will know what was upgraded and where is an up-to-date database that someone can look at?

More info:
This is my exchange: http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/exchange/RBRY

I'm also a 706 and was upgraded quite a while ago, first the loop was shortened about 3 years ago, then a few months ago the MSAN's were installed. I know there is a major service interruption in Bryanston at the moment, pretty much everything north of Grosvenor rd and west of Bryanston drive

What did you get upgraded to? Something better than 10mbps?

How do I get upgraded or get VDSL? Who can I speak to that will know if I'm connected to an MSAN or not - anybody knows?

Use the Telkom DSL checker or PM the Telkom Rep

I am also a 706 and in one of the complexes on the Hobart Road, they can't upgrade my line from 4 Mbps to 10Mbps because Telkom says my port does not support. Would be great if there is really an upgrade and can bump my line speed.
