Budget Laptop under R6000

In my experience there is nothing particularly wrong with Dell except that they don't have the most attractive looking PC's. Also just that they are a little more expensive for what you get, but bare in mind their warranty service is very good.

Dell's laptops are made tough, not pretty.

Huh? Their XPS range is one of the best looking laptop ranges out there. Probably second to Alienware, and even that's down to personal taste.

As for their other ranges, they're not pretty but they're not ugly either. They're decent-looking, solidly built units.

I reckon Dells are well built - the only thing about Dell that irks me is getting drivers from their site - they want you to download a program to download the drivers . I never ever have managed to download drivers from their support site . I normally check the specs and get the drivers from chip manufacturers site . ( eg. sound from Realtek , chipset from Intel etc. )

+1 for the Gigabyte laptops with 2 year fetch and repair policy .

That's actually the better way of doing it as the chipset manufacturer keeps the drivers up to date unlike Dell etc which don't bother with newer versions 12 months down the line.

PostmanPot, how is it possible for Esquire to moderate/censor on myBB?

To OP: Look at Lenovo for value. A few months back their Y560 line was unbeatable for value with core i3-370m and a ATI Madison Creek graphics card(AMD 5770 mobile) for under 6k.
Now, I would look for something with Intel's 2nd gen core CPU. Much longer battery life than previous gen.

Using report bad post function? PMing mods/admins?

Why would MyBb delete them out of their own accord?

The ship has already sailed...

I went for this dell. There was a slightly better spec'd Toshiba for R5899 at Computer Mania, i5 500gb. I chose the dell because of the build quality and the warrantee.

i read somewhere its illegal for companies to quote vat excluded prices to teh public anymore :>

But what some twits don't realise is that those that buy from esquire have to be registered as dealers and VAT exclusive prices are fine then. If you are a member of the public and not registered with them then the prices don't apply to you as you cannot buy from them. People are really making a fuss out of nothing if you ask me.
