... said Hayward. "What we would rather do now is up the value (by offering higher speeds). There will be no more drastic price reductions."
Im currently happy with my 4Mbityay - more speed would be nice, but can the IS network really handle it
hehe
the only time telscum might think of increasing line speeds is when their pockets are soo full of money and they need to increase bandwidth to allow the banks to transfer it all to their offshore personal accounts before they jet off to week no 40 of their allocated holiday.
can anyone see that i'm not a telscum supporter? haha...
56kman i know exactly what you are on about - i lived in the UK for 4 years and there they have uncapped 8mb pretty much standard if you are in town or anywhere near an exchange. i literally watched like 2 gb download in an evening... we are far behind international standards - but MrG sums it up nicely - can our IS support it? if we up the speeds we are just going to use more data...
the cost is a whole different issue... my brother lives outside kingston in london and he pays £15-00p/m for 24MB uncapped... £15!!!! thats only like R250.. now do you see why i am such an avid telscum hater... ;-)
Does anyone know when they are bumping up the speeds?
Will it be
[384k > 512k], [512k > 1024k] and [1024k > 4096k]![]()
OR
[384k > 1024k], [512k > 2048k] and [1024k > 4096k]![]()
Knowing helkoms lines they will have to do serious upgrading before that happens..
Well i have 384 so im not to unhappy.
You must not be happy. You must be unhappy. If you lived in France you could get fibre to the home for the money you're paying now.![]()
Indeed.
It is an upgrade, but the prices remain the same, so once again Tlekom are not tackling the issues that the customers actually care about.
Basically the upgrade costs them nothing and in fact they're likely to make a profit from the extra bandwidth they sell as a result of the increased speed.
Yip. And as mentioned before 4meg users don't even get 'upgraded'.![]()
I don't get this complaint, is that what its meant to be?
Current 4mb users bought a 1mb line, its being trialled at 4mb.
There is no 4mb line per se atm, it will only be officially recognised when these changes happen. The 1mb users just got "upgraded" early, whats the problem?
I am not particularly happy with the whole situation. Are you?
