Yes, because a fake Burger King just popped up overnight in Cavendish in the exact same place the real one used to be.

Can't wait for the Gauteng branches to open next year. Anyone know what's the locations?

They signed a agreement with Sasol to have BK branches @ the Sasol stations if I remember correctly.

I had the misfortune of having a burger from them this weekend. Wow, terrible, terrible stuff.

The burger was this limp, floppy, greasy *thing* and you couldn't identify the individual components by texture or flavour. The chips just tasted of oil and while the outside was crispy the inside was like styrofoam.

People queue for this rubbish?

I have to agree with this. The two times I ate there I felt pretty much the same about them. There was no flavor to the burgers. Even McDonalds has more flavor and McDonalds sells you cardboard burgers.

Give me Steers any day of the week, but not that flavorless crap Burger King is trying to pass off as good eating.

Had burger king a few times from the Cavendish branch and a few times overseas. While the whoper meals are average / mc d's (cardboard) burgers like, I did enjoy the King XXL burger. To me the King XXL burger was like a king steer and was worth it. My wife enjoyed the chilli cheese burger / sub.

I would go there again, my only real gripe was the price of extras like onion rings and those little pan cake things.

I haven't tried the others. Also had the king.

Had my 1st Burger King experience today.

Tyger Valley
No queue
Received my order within 5 min
Cheap
I ordered a Veggie Burger (called a bean burger).
Look: Not a burger roll - longer. Doesn't look like a patty. I could see the beans.
Taste: Tasted almost like refried beans. Not bad. The chips were good.

Nando's and Steers are way better.

Gotta say - that after the hype has died down, I'm really not even keen to try BK anymore.
Actually in the mood to go and try out Gibsons - I recall PmP raving about them sometime ago and never got round to it.
Perhaps tonight - as my weekend gets going.

EDIT: PnP was on about Mr. Barrister in Newlands, not Gibsons.

Burgers are brilliant there (to be expected from a grill). And now you can get The Barristers Burger and chips for R45 between 12h00 and 18h00. Great value!

Scroll down here for all the (±20) R45 pub lunch specials - http://www.barristersgrill.co.za/menus/BARRISTERS-DINNER-MENU-November2013.pdf.
