Been hearing about wajid's and their R15 quarter chicken special. Thought it was just their opening special though. Not that I'm going to risk going to grassy park just for some chicken.

Think it may still be an opening thing - don't know how long they'll keep pushing it for though.
Was suprised to see it being advertised at the price last night.

And Grassy Park ain't that bad - don't be chicken :p ;)

Oops - sorry for the late reply :)

Wajid's and Ahmed's are on Dennegeur Avenue Strandfontein.

Wajid's now also has a second branch that's opened up on 5th Avenue, Grassy Park, near Lake Road - across from the road Progress Hardware.

Actually picked up a Steak & Cheese Gatsby with Danya and Chilli sauce from the new branch last night.

The following image is a Google search result, but it gives you an idea of how they prepare the chicken for you:

I'm not a big chicken lover, but a quarter chicken, breast side, done right by these guys - leaves me satisfied. :D

ProTip: Wajid's in Grassy Park usually drop the price to R15 for Quarter chicken and chips with a roll over the weekend.
Seems they've been establishing themselves at their new venue and people are really queueing up.

Thanks but thought you meant a place in town. The deep south is too far too travel.

Never coming to ZA:

Burger King Japan's limited-time, fall campaign, dubbed "King's Harvest 2013," features the Big Bacon Whopper and the BK Bolognese.

Besides containing the underused hash brown, the Big Bacon Whopper also contains a large slab of flame-grilled thick bacon whose length is about twice that of the bun. They're calling it "King's bacon" (back bacon by the looks of it). The rest of the burger is a standard Whopper (beef patty, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, and ketchup).

The BK Bolognese features a pork patty, cheese, hash brown, onions, and a Bolognese sauce.

The Big Bacon Whopper carries a price tag of 680 yen (~$6.91 US) while the BK Bolognese burger comes in at 290 yen (~$2.95 US).

Are these the same self serve soda machines they're using in cpt? You have a choice of cokes (regular, diet, cherry, vanilla...), fanta (7/8 different varieties), dr pepper, etc...

Considered BK Cavendish last weekend until we saw the queue. Was not that long as far BK queues have been in the past, but I am still not going to join a queue of 20 or 30 people for a taste of BK. Proper restaurants are way quicker that any BK "fast food" experience.

I've had so much authentic BK and McDs in the last three weeks I won't have to worry about the SA bastardised versions again for quite some time.
