Hi,

Im thinking to buy myself a graphics card, been playing from my onboard GPU a couple of months now and I want to start with some serious gaming!

I currently have an ASUS M3N-HT DELUXE/Mempipe motherboard, its got 3way sli, so preferably a NVIDIA graphics card so I can use the SLI function in the future.

My budget is about R2000,

what card can i possibly get for that price? I live in CapeTown.

Or should I rather wait for the new series of Nvidia cards?
Thanks

yes well... at the moment I only have a budget of R2000 for a card.

Lets say the budget was R3000, what can you recommend for me?

You have an ASUS motherboard but can only budget R2000 for a graphics card? weird.

Anyway. for R2000 the best bet would probably be a Leadtek nVidia GeForce GTS 250. its R2050 at www.take2.co.za. pretty good card.

Check it out at http://www.take2.co.za/electronics-leadtek-nvidia-geforce-gts-250-1gb-pci-e-4356776.html

WTF does that have to do with anything?

or add R300 more and get the GTX260 from pcint

Also check the XFX nVidia GeForce GTX 260 - 896MB - PCI-E

What psu do you have? cause most high level cards require a 600w or higher psu. The XFX card the I mentioned above needs a 1000w powersuply witch will cost you another R3000 lol.

Not bad for a first post :)

NO card is gonna need a 1000W power supply dude unless you running 3 like 9800gx2's

I was thinking about that one yah. But I want to wait for the new generation of cards to arrive. Prices of the current high-end cards will drop

If you wait for the new cards now you might as well wait for the new ones after that too. But you cant go wrong with XFX. I bought a XFX alpha dog edition 2 years ago 384mb DDR3 and can still play most latest release games full graphics.

just my opinion.
