Some of us are system administrators and doesn't like it when users like you try to bypass corporate policies.

Ever seen what happens to a large company whose entire IT infrastructure is down just because somebody decided to bypass a proxy server and infected the network with an unknown trojan? And before you rush in to say "antivirus program" let me point out to you that there is new strains of malware out which can go undetected by the best antivirus program out there.

Let me say this: any sysadmin that can't bypass a proxy should not have that job in the first place. It's one of the simplest things to do
Secondly, giving the idiot sites like ninjacloak actually makes my job much easier. Just scan your proxy logs and whatyaknow.... And IF I found a url like that in one of my logs I'd be an extremely pissed off admin.

So yeah. Give him as many of those sites as you can.

Although I believe Buffboi and sneakyBastid are the same person using different accounts, I kinda agree on this point. All of you okies got suckered into getting into "internet fights" with this w@nker. Stop giving him life lessons on his job and either help with his inquiry or ignore the chop.

I was a Admin and I know it's not cool if some guy visits porn sites or get virusses... I know the feeling coz it's a waste of time for everyone...

Now I moved from IT into IS (information Systems)

I'm doing more like SQL, Reporting, Visual Studio's... But now I'm more limited and it sucks... really come on. Some sites are for myself like fiestaSTOwners.co.za that I can't access... But also sites for research if I don't know something about VS and I have to look it up. Google works fine but then I have a link to something and that site is blocked...

We are using Websense here and I wish I can get a way around the thing... They keep on blocking me on every move I make. Even with other proxies that I enter. It works for a few min then they get me

Worst case is they will call me in (coz I'm still the IT Co ordinator as well) and I'll tell them I need the access.

If I have to time waste on gmail talk or anything that's it. If my work wasn't done and I'm on chat or FB the entire day I can understand but we sitting with a 20mb ADSL Telkom and 20MB Neotell line both uncapped and it's max is 30% in use in the day so why not waste time on the internet coz I do my job and get it done...
