Cabinet pushes through e-tolling legislation

I feel like puking. My increase does not cover this. Neither does it cover the 15% my Tshwane bill went up. Not to say anything about food or fuel :(

Motoriste wat die e-tolstelsel probeer ontduik, se fooie of boetes kan van hul salarisstrokies afgetrek word.

Once again - they are going to administer a few hundred thousand deductions from salaries every month?

Not going to happen . Ever.

I sincerely hope that this doesn't come to pass.:(

It will come to pass, the ANC goons will see to that. The lure of money to corrupt their minds further is much greater than the common sense they do not have!

Viva Africa, where common stupidity rules.

I hope South African's do not "p@ssy out" on this. All too often South Africans say "No, I won't do that" but when it comes to it they ask "How high should I jump?", and then complain while still jumping.

Government can go straight to hell with this e-toll nonsense. Should have been using my fuel levy for it's intended purpose in the first place.

Imagine if major supermarkets came on board and refused to stock the etags? That would be something. Their business will be affected as well as logistics fees wil go up. Unless of course they know they can pass the buck onto us and hike their prices.

E-toll is going to hit us two-fold: toll fees and the increase in the price of goods. Most half-baked idea I ever did hear.

This is one are in which govt excels - collecting monies.

Trust me, the lure is just too big ... they will find a way to implement it.

Thinking about it a bit, how?

How the hell will they coordinate your exact e-toll distance travelled and monies owed with deductions your employer needs to make?

They can't even implement text books to schools 8 months into the year.

Can you imagine the staff and admin needed to attempt collection of 500,000 invoices every month - issuing summons etc etc

Come up with a "base" figure?

They earn no financial rewards for supplying textbooks. It is pretty clear this whole e-toll nonsense is a corrput morass. They likely stand to get dollah's out of it. You can bet your bottom dollar they will come a looking for it.

And if you are unemployed do they plan to deduct from UIF ?

If you're a pensioner will they mug you at the old age home ?

Target the middle class. They'll pay. They always do. They may kick and scream but they pay.

The middle class carries Eskom. They will pay for Gauteng's freeways too.

Does that mean I can replace my vehicle with a minibus, then go to a taxi boss, get him to register it as one of his taxis ( pay under table) and then drive without paying ecrap?

That would probably be more legit and consttutional than what they are planning....

If they get SARS on this, we're ****ed. They seem to be pretty effective ;)
