I have a choice between getting a Host Africa Container VPS or KVM Cloud VPS. I know the differences and KVN is more resource intensive but you have more control on it.

My question is if I have a Container VPS and KVM VPS, both have 4 CPU Cores and 4GB RAM, which one will serve websites / databases faster? This VPS will be used to run purely a E-Commerce Store with 100 Concurrent Users and about 10000 products.

I keep hearing KVM has more flexibility but is more resource intensive. But if at the end of the day if I am getting 4 cores and 4gb of ram, which will be faster overall? I don't need any complex software running. Just plain old Wordpress / Woocommerce or Prestashop.

Your advice would be highly appreciated.

Pick the kvm.

You won’t be able to determine performance via those stats. Only way to do it is via benchmarks.

On vps and lxc stuff like the number of cores is basically made up numbers. Useful as a guide at best. Eg you can allocate more memory than the physical server has etc
