Dont see how mod voting can work as they will also show favouritism to a select few on this forum like they have done before.

Haven't reads the whole thread so it may have been mentioned.
Why not lets mods decide which Threads are eligible (i.e in this case, which threads they believe were helpful - they can set minimum criteria) and then have a random draw. "Most helpful" is pretty subjective measure in any case so random will probably be the best solution and eliminates favoritism.
