Can a Cyclone 5kv Battery be reset?

Had an incident where my backup system was run down to 0%. Unfortunately I was only made aware later.

Upon resetting the Growatt Inverter i have found the following: The battery charges from 9% to 99% in 70 minutes. In terms of usage, we have also found lights, fans, TV and router will work for 3 plus hours but if someone switch on anything from a hairdryer to the kettle and the Inverter shuts down immediately. Battery then reads 9% again. We didn't have this problem before. We were able to run our whole house minus geyser and stove which are not connected at all.

Further investigation has found that that the person responsible kept using the automatic voltage switcher for the full day while something was tripping the mains at the DB board. Basically the house ran off the 5KV battery until it died. The Mains switch was off.

Is there any way to recover the battery? I still believe it could be stuck in some sort of safe mode. Or do I need a new battery.

This installation was done at the end of July.
 
If you can see what the battery SOH (state of health) is that would be a good place to start and see if that indicated anything. This should be accessible from either the battery or inverter menus, I'm not familiar with either of those brands. If you can get a screeshot of some of the BMS stats that would be helpful.

It's possible the battery is damaged, sounds like you're riding it quite hard running an entire household off one 5kWh battery. I would always recommend that you don't max out the battery and follow the manufacturer's guidelines (for this battery they recommend to not charge/discharge it at more than 50A: https://www.solarwaysuppliers.co.za...erwal-battery-setting-guide-with-inverter.pdf)

Sometimes you also need to just run the battery through a few full charge/discharge cylces so it can recalibrate.
 
Sounds like the battery has become unbalanced and one or more cells are well below the rest so never get fully charged. What battery type and make does it have?
 
All BMS can be reset. Find out which make and model it is. I have had a few BMS fail. notably in SHOTO batteries

The BMS will equalise all the cells. It can take several days

Just curious what is the reset procedure for Shoto?

Hi, did you by any chance come right with resetting the battery? I'm having an similar issue.
