Canceling Sentech Advised ASAP

I think so many people are going to cancel that there will be more bandwidth available than they need... hhmmmmm..

I hear that these "returned" modems now count in the hundreds.... sitting piled high & unused at their head office.
As for the ACTUAL PAYING CUSTOMERS .... the figure has dropped to about 1800.
Sooner or later the #^%&%^$ is going to hit the fan!

Dean, yes.... that it the sad reality. We all wanted Sentech to succeed but now failure seems inevitable. My frustration is that Sentech management has had every opportunity to turn it around yet have taken the path of arrogance & stupidity.
In my opinion I believe the blame lies squarely on Marcel Raath, who placed the final nail in the coffin, by refusing to accept the need for more bandwidth ….. simply because he failed to plan and budget properly. Just a few Mb/s more could have made a big difference… and made the MyWireless solution workable….but this was not done.

I’m currently in the process of documenting this Broadband fiasco to ensure that this disaster is well recorded. At the end of the day Marcel Raath can be assured that his legacy and reputation will be the laughing stock of all future MBA students. As for the CEO…all I can say is “ever heard of Corporate Governance”????

I'm worried that Sentech will F'up my cancellation.

I've been billed for September and I still owe them R800 odd for the deal I worked out when they didn't bill me for 3 months (got a deal to pay that amount over 3 months) - that will happen beginning of October along with my final monthly payment.

My concern is that if I phone them tommorrow and say "I would like to cancel" and indicate my final payment will be in October, meaning my service should terminate at the END of october, I can almost gaurantee they'll **** everything up and disable my account.

Well, I've got news for Sentech - if this does indeed happen (which I'm sure it will), my bank will be informed NOT to allow ANY further payments to go through to Sentech, and I'll keep the damn modem too.

As always, with Sentech, I'm expecting trouble and hastle and bumbling idiocy bordering on complete and utter incompetence that is so sad, it's laughable. I tell you, I get angrier and angrier anticipating the **** I'm most likely going to go through in cancelling this terrible service.

I don't know why I bother - my family and friends think I'm mad to have kept this TOTAL PILE OF STEAMING CR AP going for so long - I must be insane. I should've cancelled back in May, but my optimistic nature stalled me.

I'm sure as hell gonna cancel! As soon as 'n get the details on the ADSL stuff. I filled in one of those online request thingies of TELSKUM! Will hear from them next week hopefully! Any extra advice (mistakes learned from when dealing with telkom)?

koosbeer, they were so "eager" to cancel mine that they did it yesterday, eventhough I CLEARLY indicated that I want it cancelled at the end of the month.

*sigh*

The person in Sentech finance I spoke to today said "We have so many cancellations that we don't really read the faxes anymore. Most people want it cancelled the same day, that's why it was done"

A pretty nice lady phoned me the very next day, now this kinda reminded me of sentech cause she asked me a bunch of questions, which were all answered in the form, and she had the wrong answers for most
