Cancellation of an existing contract 0813742441

In December I took an uncapped WiFi contract with telkom. As soon as that was installed I went in store to cancel my existing month to month broadband 20GIG on ********** 441. I was the told that does not get done in store I have to fill in a form and scan it to the cancellationsame department. I did that on the 26/12/2017. I received an autoreply that my query will be attended to within 21 days. About 2 weeks ago when I checked the line it was still active. I forwarded the same email to various departments including ********** no response. On the 31st of January I caled the 10210 call centre and I was asked to forward the same emails and I was promised a call back. I forwarded the emails and no onextra came back. I logged a request on telkom app on my phone and I got a notification that my query was sent back and I'll receicertainly a copy. I didn't. I did that 2 times. The last person I spoke to was Desmond on the 01/02/2018 around 18:30 who kept me on hold for quite a lengthy time after I've been holding for about 30 minutes to get assistance. When he eventually came back to me he said the line will be deactivated within 4 hours. The line is still active. What else should I do now as this is so frustrating! !! I've been loyal to telkom for years and this poor service is not acceptable! !!!

I feel your pain.
I've sent them 2 cancellation emails and a year later, I'm still using the LTE sim :crylaugh:

e-mail is to advanced try faxing, or even better mail, Post office mail if that fails Smoke signals..

I had this with my ADSL... I was given 3 email addresses after missions to get the ones that actually apply.

Sent mail to cancel only to receive mailbox full... I had to phone them to tell them that their mailbox is full... Luckily i got that auto reply... So i simply told them... The condition was that they will cancel the line within 30 days... i have the mail that auto generated that said it would be cancelled in 30 days... so I accepted i had to pay that 1 month but then i removed all debit orders from my account and when they called i simply told them I have the proof that my account was closed and that I sent it twice to be sure they recieved it... I owe them nothing and as far as i was concerned as per their automated mail the account/line has been terminated... They never called me again.

And luckily I have Vuma Fiber so i dont have to deal with telkom again.

I had this issue converting my cell contract to prepaid last month.

I posted a rather insulting post on their Facebook page. It suitably offended them but I was sorted in the next couple of days.

Turns out that all the mails and calls prior to that were fruitless because there was no notice of cancellation on my record on their side

I went in store filled the form in, and they said they will e-mail it for me. They said will take 21 days I think called them on day 15 they confirmed it and will be cancelled by month end, had no problem.

Maybe try in store again and say you wont leave until it is done?

(Telkom, "We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in South Africa, we shall fight on the landline and mobile, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our infrastructure, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender")

I have the same issue, cancelled a contract on 21 September 2017 and find myself still being debited, how do we fix this? Is there a telkom representative on this forum?

Took me 5 months to cancel my adsl line and they even handed me over for collection when I refused to pay. They finally backdated the cancellation and credited the outstanding balance since there was NOTHING plugged into the line but they just did not want to cancel it.

Debt collector still trying to collect the debt although I have my latest invoice showing all the credits and zero balance due with Telkom acknowledging the account is now closed. Debt collector wants money from me and Telkom say I owe nothing.... The fight continues.

Wanted to drive my car through the security boom gate at Centurion to get attention...

Same here, cancelled a landline last year. Twice now. Got a sms, I still owe R3500. Turns out i didnt cancel even though i have proof and an sms, lmao

I used the chat option on the telkom website and got sorted quickly, problem was faulty landline.

Might be wirth a try

Its standard procedure, they always fluff the cancellations. Must be intended.
Telkom is nearly as bad as a TV license, once you have it, very hard to get rid of it.

(Speaking from trying to cancel the same business service for 5 months now)

Can anyone tell me how is it possible that you can upgrade a contract within a matter of days via telephone, but it takes months to cancel an older contact?

Surely they are stealing money as the debit order just continues to go off?

I have been trying since January to cancel a contract. Sent form via email, spoke to three different people via their chat option and all three told me to forward the original email to them, but still that contact is still running.

Is there anyone else to contact about this?

The idea that people still get into 24 month contracts with Telkom these days baffles me. It don't matter how good that deal looks, just don't. No deal is that good for two years.

Just to add here, I have had such horrible service from Telkom, both Fixed and Mobile and I have emails to prove it, throwing in the towel with them, I can not express my sheer frustration.
Trying to cancel my 2 mobile contracts.
I get told you need to be in your 25th or later month, and give 30 days notice.
Now I signed for 24 months, but according to them it will cancel at the end of the 26th month. So if you sign a contract with Telkom Mobile for 24 months it is actually a 26 Month contract, due to the way the way cancellation is structured. I have fought tooth and nail, but they won't budge.
<choice word> you Telkom......

I had a similar issue. Got resolved after i posted an insulting comment on their Facebook page.

I'm in that battle right now. luckily I have a recording of the cancellation and the cancellation reference number.

How do we get the attention of MyBB staff to publish a story about this horror? - go look at hellopeter, facebook & twitter pages.

Send a PM to TelkomZA. I have had numerous issues and he has always come through with great service.
