Any tips on how I can cancel my month to month subscription with Iburst?

I thought when I signed up for a month to month contract that I could cancel it on reasonable grounds and a reasonable notice period.

I got ADSL installed 4 months ago and since then I have switched off and disconnected my Iburst modem. No luck getting them to cancel after 3 months - they just don't answer my mails, faxes or the phone in the cancellations department and they just keep on billing me.

My modem is paid in full (I have the proof) and I did not sign up for any 12 / 24 month contracts.

Am I missing something here; or have I signed a clause with the devil when I signed up with them?

I had the cancellation form emailed to me while I was on the phone with them, faxed it in 2 days ago and called today to check. They say they've recieved it and we're cancelled for the end of Feb.

Phone the normal helpdesk and get to accounts, they handle it. Not sure how it could take 3 months.

Thanks for your help and the form. I will try once again to cancel my account using this form and hope for the best this time.

Strange that my login account is disabled, but they still bill me and keep loading my bandwidth allowance each month.

Whenever I called to cancel my sub I was simply put through to the cancellations department who doesn't seem to exist. I tried to talk to the operators in the accounts department and they just ...click... put me through to the non existing cancellations department once again.

I guess I handled this pretty stupidly.

The way you handled it is no excuse to justify their behaviour - not answering emails and phone calls is simply unacceptable. Fax through the cancellation form and keep the receipt after faxing as proof. If they still bill you, have your bank stop the debit order.

Funny, I'm going through the same thing with these clowns. This is obviously their way of screwing you just that extra bit...................

Called to cancel - told me to send an email letter to their "retention" department - who send an automated response, and then do nothing.

I will fax them cancellation form and then get the bank to stop the debit order.
Compared to ADSL they are slooowwww and way too expensive.
