Cannot access 10.0.0.2 at all

The Netgear DG834GUv5 uses 10.0.0.2 IP address by default.

@3dgamer:
Do the following diagnostics:
1) Ensure that your PC's IP address is in the 10.0.0.x range, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a default gateway of 10.0.0.2
If it is not in that range, but your Internet is working, then you should try and connect to the http://<gateway> instead of http://10.0.02 to access your ADSL modem
2) If you can't even ping your ADSL modem at 10.0.0.2, then you most definitely won't be able to access its webpage at http://10.0.0.2

It would help to know what your PC's IP address settings are.

Are you running Route Sentry?
Because that is the only thing that I can think of as to why you can't ping or access 10.0.0.2!

If you restart your PC and then don't connect to the Telkom PPP adapter, then you should be able to open http://10.0.0.2/

If you were using Route Sentry, ditch it and use my Traffic Splitter application instead. Then you should be able to connect to the Telkom PPP connection, as well as maintaining your connection to http://10.0.0.2/

tried but still the same. Do you think maybe a new router with the same make might be the solution?

3dgamer:
1) Do you have your IP address settings set on automatic?
2) Did you reboot your PC and then try to ping 10.0.0.2, before connecting to the Telkom PPP connection?

If you're still having issues, please post your routing table, by running the following in Command Prompt:
route print -4

eL0L:
Run the following in command prompt:
ipconfig
route print -4

and then also try to ping the default gateway's address, which would be something like 10.0.0.2 / 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.1.1.

Then post the results here please.

mine did the same last week and could not get into 10.0.0.2
it just came right all of a sudden. weird

ai eL0L.

If your LAN IP address is not in the 10.0.0.x range, then you won't be able to access http://10.0.0.2 or to ping it either.
Your default gateway was 192.168.17.3, so perhaps you should try and access http://192.168.17.3/ or change your IP address settings to obtain automatically instead - if 192.168.17.3 is also offline.

route print -4

1) no
2)yep

I would suggest that you put your IP address settings on 'Obtain an IP address automatically'. That way you should be able to determine your ADSL modem's IP address.
If your ADSL modem's IP address is 10.0.0.2, then you should be able to access it according to your routing table.

it is already set on obtain IP address automatically and it is still not working

I see your router is in bridged mode(because I see you have a ppp connection as per IPCONFIG), disconnect your PPP dialup connection from your pc, then see i you can access your router on the LAN IP

@ both 3dgamer and elL0L

open control panel ->internet options go to connections tab
then click lan setting ->un-tick any of the tick boxes there then try again
