Cannot connect to certain international sites

Not only Vodacom. My home ADSL and work internet is doing the same thing.

Me too ... cannot access many international sites. They ping every 60 seconds and give about 4 ping responses and then they timeout for another minute. Hope SAIX and Voda can get this sorted promptly

A large number of UK sites can still not be accessed!

Haven't had any trouble for a couple hours now. All UK sites worked ok so far.

I think the problem is way worse than just Vodacom. I don't know how Google works but I get the www.google.co.za address no problem. But as soon as I type a search then nothing happens. Like the local .co.za mirror is not getting data through to the international server.

Also, another local .co.za address is hosted oversees and is either extremely slow or completely unresponsive.

So it looks like the big pipe to the outside world is broken.

Question: Why does it appear that we only have one such an international connection?

Does Vodacom have any redundancy build into their network?

Nope not just Vodacom. I am getting same problem on all my connections!

Just shows me how bad local content is. I tried to do some technical research today and the only site in the field ended up being hosted oversees (with a .co.za address).

Well, I am fed up. Going to log off, drive home, hug the kids and kiss the wife and maybe even watch some SABC TV.

Thanks for testing at least its not just me! I suppose the problem could be outside of the country...??

It's a SAIX problem, so anyone using their services will be affected.

Yep, problem has returned. Whatever SAIX fixed this morning is now broken again. I guess it's an early night tonight and hopefully tomorrow everyone can get some work done.
