Since 20 October 2020 I cannot receive any calls. Whenever someone phones me it goes straight to voicemail. I called the helpdesk (082 135) more than twenty times over the last 7 days but no one seems to know whats going on. I've even tried cancelling my contract but that was also unsuccessful. Each time this person Marion Jeftha closes the escalations without any resolution. This is now day 7 that I cannot receive calls. I tried all avenues, 082135 0821905, 082 1958 and also the Vodacom shop where the person could not assist.

ANY assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Restart your phone.. worked for me yesterday..

Thank you but I've tried that multiple times. They also gave me codes to enter to make sure its not call barring etc. That didnt work either

Have you tried your SIM in an alternative phone?

Unfortunately I dont have another phone, but nothing changed on my side. They made changes because some vodacom direct person migrated my package and ever since I cant receive calls.

I have the same problem, since the same date as you. I emailed vodacom customer care the following message yesterday, " I can't receive calls as they go straight to voicemail. It's been like this for 7 days, but some incoming calls do manage to get through to me. "

They told me the following which I've not had time to try yet,
kindly search for network manually on the phone.

Switch the phone off and remove the sim card for 2 minutes.

You can even try to put the sim card to another phone to check if you will be able to receive the calls from the other numbers.

If the issue persist please call 082 135 free from Vodacom sim card to assist or visit your nearest Vodacom shop.

I'll try their suggestions later tonight if i get a chance.

Oh if its relevant, I'm on prepaid, my phone is a huawei mate 20 lite and the vodacom sim is in the microsd / sim 2 slot with my telkom sim being in the sim 1 slot.

I tried all except put my sim in another phone, but I dont see why that would make a difference as nothing changed on my phone or sim. The confirmed they tried to migrate my package without my consent and thats when the problem started. 082 135 just keeps on giving me the run around telling me all sorts of stories.

I've even tried cancelling but they could not assist. If Vodacom cant provide the basic service stipulated in the contract, they are in breach.

I have a log of over 20 calls made to them, some simply put the phone down, others try to assist but they do exactly whats been done already. Seems no one at Vodacom knows what they are doing

if you phone now you will not get the option to speak to a consultant

@KrispyRen How long have you been on this contract, and why did they try migrate you? I suppose it's possible they fiddled with my number too, even though I'm on prepaid

I've been on this contract for a year. Someone at Vodacom direct phoned me and wanted to migrate and said that only my rates would be less, but it was very unclear so I requested for her to send it via mail first, but then she continued to do the migration. I then heard afterwards that my package changed completely and my monthly installment would be R300 more. I believe this is when my issue started.

OK jeez that sucks. On my side, a phone reboot seems to have fixed the issue (touch wood), i need to receive a few more calls to be sure though.

The issue on my side came right after my last post, but as of today it started up again and caused me to miss a call which got my woolworths / absa credit card blocked for fraud!

edit: Did a reboot, got my sis to call me, seems to be OK now but I'm not convinced. If this keeps up on my new soon to be phone then it's time to port away from Vodascum...

I've a new Vodacom SIM card in my Nokia 1. It was working. Than it stopped. Phone is always "line busy".

Tried restarting etc. Line always busy. Nothing works. Madness.

Exactly the same problem, got a Nokia 2.1 on a vodacom contract for my gran to stay in contact with us, but after a month she can't receive calls anymore, just "line busy"
