If I resume a session after waking from Standby mode, I cannot connect to my router. I tried repairing the connection and restarting the router but it doesn't solve the problem. Only if I Restart the pc does it reconnect. Why?
Running XP btw.

XP was never very good at resuming from standby.
Have you tried looking for updated NIC drivers?

no...I'm not too smart when it comes to technical stuff

Try going to the device manager and disable anything that allows Win to switch the device off to save power. Win never seems to wake certain devices up, and if you use a KVM switch as I do, Win will switch off the USB and you'll never wake it up.

As mentioned, check to see if you have the latest drivers for your Wifi card. www.my-config.com may help with this. It installs a plugin to determine your machine configuration - no nag screens at all.

On my Windows 7 machine that it sometimes takes a while to get the IP. This happens only when I do a lot of switching between APs.
