Canon 60D information

Does anyone have any information on this camera?

I've tried Googling and there isn't much out there - but perhaps the camera folk know a few more sites?

They keep saying 'very soon' and one guy here even told me Canon SA have no stock of the 50D and can't get it anymore

If the 50D is pretty close pricewise to the 550D, I'm hoping for a little extra I could shift my view from the 550D I want to a 60D
 
I very much doubt there will be a 60D. For one thing, I cannot imagine Canon has suddenly managed the ability to keep the leaks from happening. Each previous xxD body was well leaked before it was announced. There is just too little information around, given how long the 50D has been out.

I'm also thinking that Canon is re-aligning their entire range to compete better with other brands. The 7D is much more level in terms of features with cameras like the Nikon D300 and Pentax K7 (I can't speak for Sony or Oly - don't have much experience with them), the 550D competes very well with the Nikon D90, I think, and I imagine there would be an update to the 1000D soon to bring it in line with the low-end Nikons. I think the 7D replaces the xxD range. But then, my guess is as good as anyone's.
 
That's what I was worried about - no news and its supposed to be released very soon :/ Read about a 3D as well ...

But it'd be great inbetween and financially, it'd make sense as the 550 is R7,600 body and the 7D is R16,600 - more than double. The 50D is getting on and will be killed off soon :/
 
The 3D has to be one of the longest running Canon rumours I can think of.

I don't know what camera you have currently but the 7D is a fantastic device . . . and to think I was moments away from buying a 50D :o
 
I've got the 50D currently. Don't have any complaints really about it as I'm happy with the quality output with the lenses I use as well as the ease of use. I'm just lusting after the 7D... more gear envy than anything else as its probably the best that I could possibly afford.
