Can't use MTN mobile data

Here is a weird one.........
My Samsung S21 is connect to my home network. I don't have internet connectivity because my Fibre line is down.

At home I cannot use Mtn data. But if I move 500m down the road I can.

If I turn wi-fi off, I can use MTN data at home.

Why can't I use MTN data at home while connected to my home network?

Wifi settings, advanced then make sure switch to mobile data is on. Should work then.

Mobile data is on.
Has to be if I can use MTN data 500m from my house!

If your fiber router is switched on (even though your fiber is down) the phone will connect to wifi first.
Try switching of wifi on the phone and switch on mobile data?

Makes sense.
So if phone successfully connects to a wifi network, it ignores GSM data.
Logic is sound, but it should go a step further and check for an internet connection. If it fails, it should allow GSM data

yes it will connect to wifi but should tell you no internet and ask can it use gsm data .check settings .

Check your phone settings you might have an option for wifi assist, uses mobile data when wifi is weak
