Ok let's for one moment start to take them seriously. Remember some accusation (by the DA I think) that the ANC (or one of their goons) is trying to encourage a mass migration of (black) people into the western cape to win the election next round? What's the CP gonna do about that?

More importantly what is the DA going to do about it since they are the current governing body of W.C.? They are the ones in power and they have the ability and the responsibility to stop this from happening in a supposed democratic S.A.? The Cape Party I'm sure will help them to stop this from happening (I'm not privvy to the C.P.'s strategy if and when this does ever happen) however if you are willing to continue to live in a country where democracy (The ANC's definition) is manipulated like that then that's your perogative.
 
How do you plan to finance the purchasing of assets from the SA government/tax payer, considering that they are national assets, not provincial?

To what degree do you plan to secede?

What will change under your party's rule? How will it be any different to the current Cape?

How do you plan to deal with the uprising against this movement? Not only from within your own borders but from the rest of SA as well? There will be violent protests to this - to deny this possibility is akin to burying your head in the sand.

What legal precedent will you use to support secession?

What percentage support would you require within the current legal framework to effectively secede, and what are your plans to garner such support?

What political party funding have you obtained and are you prepared to be as open and transparent as one would hope a political party would be, and disclose the contributors and the use of proceeds to date?

What are your reasons for secession? You have provided legal basis (which one can argue holds no precedent), but I haven't heard a plausible justification for this yet.

What currency will you use and what will this currency be backed by?

What international trade agreements do you propose entering into, considering that existing agreements are bi-lateral with SA and will therefore become effectively null and void? Do you expect similar conditions to proposed contracts? If so, you're in for a big surprise.

I have many more, but I look forward to hearing the responses to the above in the interim...
 
The DA's theory is that the ANC is going to achieve this artificial migration by intentionally degrading service delivery in the surrounding provinces thereby causing a mass migration of job seekers into the WC. That theory sounds absurd to me - why would the ANC starve people into the WC. Surely that would only result in increased support for the DA?

Such a migration if it were to happen would affect the CP more than the DA (as the DA has not said anything about seeeking secession - it would be suicidal if they ever did). Remember this CP is saying that one of their reasons for wanting to "liberate" the cape is that it's culture, and make-up (of people) is different to the rest of SA. That's why I ask of them not the DA.

Our argument for secession is currently framed by section 235 (but is not limited to it) of the South African constitution. 52 contiguous municipalities (comprising the Western Cape, most of the Northern Cape and six municipalities in the Eastern Cape) make up the Cape Republic of Good Hope. These municipalities are culturally and linguistically distinct, share a common history, were seperate and self-governing before 1910, are shaped by a 350 year old society and a history going back thousands of years.

Ok, that is factually incorrect.

The "Cape Republic of Good Hope" doesn't really exist.. it was the "Cape Colony" and at 1910, its borders were the borders of the ex Cape Province, so if you're going to push for independence based on the borders of the Cape Colony as at 1910, you can have the whole Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and the North West.

Something tells me you don't want that simply because you know that you'll never get the majority you need to make it happen.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. Why would they try to incorporate a body of people who would not vote in favour of them? Of course they will try and cut it so as to please the biggest number of people.

What nerve they got to decide who can move there and on what grounds they can do so on. They cannot just kidnap all the people in the cape on the day of the secession or stop those trying to enter! Then they'd be asking for trouble. I mean there's only like 200 of them at the moment - they'd be told to go to bed by the adults if they ever try that.

The DA would do well to seperate itself from any official comments for or against the Cape becoming independent.

How can anyone take this party seriously if they can't even answer questions put forward to them?

Cape-Independence is incapable of providing any help.

It's a case of the blind leading the blind.
