Cape Town - A Cape Town woman went missing on Monday and her family fears she may have been kidnapped.
Neelum Mohamood, 24, clocked into work at 08:00 at Groote Schuur Hospital in Observatory on Monday morning, a family member told News24. Then, 15 minutes later, she clocked out.
She has not been seen or heard from since. An attempt to use CCTV cameras to see where Mohamood might have gone was unsuccessful.
According to a post on Facebook, Mohamood drives a blue Ford Fiesta with registration number CY 366953.
The family member, who wishes to remain anonymous, said it was highly uncharacteristic for Mohamood to simply leave work and not tell anyone where she was going.
However, for the last few weeks, Mohamood has been receiving threatening phone calls and recently got a letter with a sinister message.
On Sunday night, Mohamood apparently sent a message to a cousin saying she was in danger.
But the family member said he has no idea who might have sent the messages.
The young woman is doing her internship at the Cape Town hospital and lives with her parents in Ravensmead. She was described as a down-to-earth person who preferred being at home instead of partying.
A case has been opened at the Ravensmead police station. Anyone with information can phone the station on 021 933 9000 or contact Waseem Mohamood on 082 724 9499. You can also contact News24.
