Cape Town doctor disappears

With all due respect she sounds like a bit of an attention seeker.

SMSing you (or your wife?) to tell you she is OK, but adding she is not too hurt, yet not giving details of what happened? Odd! If I were close enough to someone to share this with them, I would not tantalise them with half the facts.

The words used were "mostly unharmed", I don't think that the message was actually written by her, just sent from her phone, just to tell people that she was OK.

Not sure what you were exacting her to say ?

She sents an SMS to say she is ok(ish), and no-one phones her to find out what happened?
She is a college. There had to be tonnes of people looking for her and worrying, imagine they all phone at once ?

It just seems like one heck of an anticlimax after all the drama to send such a vague SMS .

She is a college.

Some might ask if there is there an enrolment process to enter her, but I won't. You might lose your rag again. This is not a thread for light-heartedness, even if she has been found and is safe...

Sure, but at least one person would have gotten through? She could have at least informed the people close to her about the details, and let them spread it to other concerned people.

I think it is very ironic for people to post reports of missing persons with requests for the public to be on the lookout and to basically help search for a missing person and then when that person is found, NO detail is divulged to the very same public who may have been of assistance in finding her ~ so much for helping !

People help to satisfy their nosy curiosity? It should be enough that she is found and doesn't feel like talking about it.

So people should care enough to help look, but not care enough to want to know the details?

Then next time maybe the public will not "feel like" helping ;)

Her friends and family asked for help finding her. She didn't. Remember that woman who was also missing and turned out she had just "fallen asleep at her gay friend's place"?

I do understand what you mean, and anyway, I think 90% of people who go missing, left of their own accord or simply failed to communicate their whereabouts to loved ones for whatever reason.
