That is brilliant.
South Africa’s biggest forum. Discuss, discover, and connect with thousands of members.
Nice, in a kind of getaway-pad kinda way.
Nice, in a kind of getaway-pad kinda way.
Looks a bit remote.
UK?It would be awesome in a "live in the UK for nine months, live there for three
UK?
Does that mean one would have to watch what one says?
it is well thought out and designed - helps he is an engineer thoThat is brilliant.

I'd struggle to get out of that bath.
I take it he's not too bothered about EWC?so lexy - not to worry about cape independence
move outward - the world is your oyster, land is cheap
ju-ju & cronies would never pitch up.I take it he's not too bothered about EWC?
Would be a shame for Ju-Ju and his cronies to rock up and say geee thanks.
p.s. hoping that never happens to your friend of course.
It's what he asked for.
Stop getting emotional.
So, you don't have a proper example![]()
Hey, what about Transkei, Ciskei, Bophuthatswana and Venda?

Are you telling me, or asking me?So, you don't have a proper example![]()
The problem is in not having confidence in enforceable laws.ju-ju & cronies would never pitch up.
no veuve clicquot, johnny walker blue, louis vuitton, range rover dealership available nearby.
more importantly - no audience to play to - they need to peacock their immense wealth, status & importance to all
The problem is in not having confidence in enforceable laws.
It devalues land and all other forms of private property. You end up not looking after it the same as you would if you had that confidence. The remoteness has the same drawback as property in a city or town-centre. Why put in all the effort nd expense to maintain it, if there is a limit to keeping the uninvited out?
But, I take it this is just a romantic notion that is a brief distraction, rather than a serious avenue for discussion.
Brief distractions of these kinds are very welcome, tho... one needs to dream.... to keep imagining a future in which these kinds of things are possible
To not dream is to invite the consequences of mediocrity and stagnation and entitlement-mindedness.
You clearly think most SAn property owners have no fear of either EWC, where fair compensation can be decreed to be nil, or the absence of law-enforcement in the courts to protect from trespassers/squatters/petty govt bureaucrats on private land or property. Most people seem quite happy to maintain and improve their properties, so they likely think that the chances of the great unwashed uninvesting them is as remote as Grant's property.
Good grief, vigras.
