It is as simple as "the right to life" :) :) :)
Yes.... where everyone is equal under the law...

The last part is crucial lest some again fall into special pleading.

Ofc, merely articulating 'equality before the law' is insufficient to prevent that.... as we are hopefully learning. Hence the need for secession.

How many here agree.... the first language in the Free Cape should be Afrikaans?

Now, now @Brian_G... .those of us that 'praat met lang tande' should secede from the Afrikaans Free Cape, if our culture does not comport.

The only alternative is to force your rules on the majority. Which, in Western legal tradition is defined as 'criminality'.

Agree?

No, it should be Khoekhoegowab.

Afrikaans is the main taal there @lexity , so can only agree, but it's rare for any new country not to adopt the main language of world use, so English must officially be no. 2 IMO.

Nothing wrong with Afrikaans (unless you have difficulty with language learning)

Any new country should be free to adopt any language they choose to, as #2.

I would not go so far.

I would say, instead... unless you have difficulty with learning, per se, i.e. you learn at the rate of biological evolution.

Some would prefer to call this a 'learning disorder'... I don't buy that.

Amazing how you have zero idea about learning patterns and impacts and all that and then proceed to throw a generalization around as an insult whilst making yourself look stupid.

We all have individual abilities and talents, not something to generalise at all. Shame on you :giggle:

Your bleeding heart.

If you feel strongly enough, you will gather support in your minority language group and secede when you have the economic and sovereign chops to make a go of it.

This is the group I'm a part of right now. I have to somehow make that my future reality.

Why should it be any different for anyone else?

Nah just pointing out that you have no clue about another topic but pretend like you do and just make yourself look stupid.

We get that you want to secede and that's cool, but I'm not sure why you project that desperation onto others.

You don't think that your adopted creation theory, e.g. Social Darwinism, has a direct effect on your learning ability?

That is next-level Polly-Anna.

The only thing I project onto others is where they portray their position as being above and beyond Might Makes Right, yet shirk individual responsibility to be right-by-argument-alone, as opposed to right-by-govt-decree.
