We have a choice between Keppler "Narcolepsy-Inducing" Wessels or Pommy "Shut The Fsck Up" Mbangwa. And then often no choice whatsoever when they're on at the same time. Bring back Pat Symcox, please!

Pommy annoys the hell out of me but luckily Keppler's often there to put me out of my misery (and into a coma)...

Pommy is very shouty. And they seem to have found a couple of New Zealanders that went to the same shouty school of commentating.

Robin Jackman, Geoff Boycott and Jack Bannister FTW :)

Robin's cricketing knowledge seems to be slipping of late, but he's still good for a few laughs.

Best commentators for me : Tony Cozier, Geoff Boycot and Mark Nicholas , I do not have a problem with pommy, but bloody hell Paul Adams irritates the **** out of me.
Danny Morris, Kepler, Daryl Cullinin are ok. And you got to love the WI accents of Ian Bishop, Courtney Walsh, Micheal Holding and Geoffrey Dijon =) YAMAAN!

I played golf with one of the ex-commentators recently and apparently any commentator who dared share his views disagreeing with those of CSA, were promptly fired. Lee Irvine and Pat Symcox were victims of this unofficial policy apparently. Unfortunately it is those commentators who are actually interesting to listen to - those who adopted the Boycott-style...

In case you thought Pommy knew nothing about cricket....

(Mpumelelo) Pommy Mbangwa's batting is for the Gods to view. 25 innings, 8 not outs and 34 runs gives him an unbelievable average of 2.00. He has been dismissed at 0 for nearly 40% of his crease visits. He has a highest score of 8, the only one in this elite group [of really crap batsmen] not to have crossed 9 runs. He has always batted at no.11. His average partnership is an unbelievably low 6.8. What more do you want. I would have paid money to see Pommy bat. Note his batting sequence: 0, 2, 0, 4, 0*, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2*, 3, 2, 0, 1*, 2, 0*, 0*, 1*, 3, 0, 0, 1*, 8, 0*, 5. One fascinating string of scores.

From an article on cricinfo, Okay, Bradman is at No.1... but who is last?

Mark Nicholas - acceptable
Tony Cozier - ok
Paul Adams - snooze
Danny Morris - guy needs a spliff to relax him a bit before each match imo.
Daryll Cullinan - he played Shane Warne better than he commentates.
The WI crowd - also high up on the bore scale, and they need to spend some time Danny Morris before each game...;)

Not a big fan of Mark Nicholas but Cozier and the other Windies commentators are all reasonably ok to listen to.

Oh and Ian Healy is my favourite when the Aussies are getting worked over :D

One guy I did enjoy listening to was Gilly. Even Shane Warne does a decent job. Neil McKenzie was on the mic today and he faired ok - not great but South African's tend to have a boring accent so he's handicapped...

I think Niel needs a bit more confidence his new at the job but his doing ok at the moment, Ramish Raja and Ravi Shastri isn't bad either. Sanil bores me.

Something else I've just seen on cricinfo:
In 2001 [Pommy] started television commentary, where his quiet thoughtful views were well received, and in 2005 he ended a brief foray into coaching by commiting full-time to his TV career. He was one of international cricket's genuine No. 11s.

"quiet thoughtful views"????

I think Alan Donnald Coached Pommy with regards to batting but honestly his not that bad of a commentator, that is my opinion at least, sure he knows not that much about the game but at least he doesn't bore me with pointless strategies.

One thing that Robin Jackman has started doing that really irritates me, is using DLF as a verb. "OOOH! He's DLF'ed that one right out the ground!"

I mean, this whole DLF Maximum!!!!1!! thing is irritating enough, but let's not make it any worse than it has to be.
