Car Audio recommendations

Takes some pics of the dash so we can see your others dont work.
And as for the price thats what you get if you ignore everyone's advice

my others? it's a mini... there faggal... its bare... no previous speakers... stock standard

looks like this:

There is plenty room there, how handy are you with diy?

I would go for custom door cards something like:
http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/index.ph...install/merging-builds-with-the-door-card-r26
Or you can do kick panels like:
http://www.caraudiocentral.net/forums/fabrication-/12715-diy-build-fiberglass-kick-pods.html

If you buy some masonite and cut new door cards and then make some rings for the speakers and fibreglass it all together then cover in vinal you can make some sweet new ones and always have the old ones as backup.

I suggest watching a few youtube videos and seeing if its something you will want to do and see all the good ideas.

Alrighty then... yes we back baby....!!

So, 1 year later, and have done absolutely faggal. But it's time...

So here is what I was thinking...

Basically the backseat is used maybe once every 4 months. So what I need/want to do is this:
- I basically want the setup to be flexible. Want to put some sub(s) in the back (where the back seat is), but when I need to carry people around, I want to be able to remove the box (or whatever) and put the seats back.

So if I want to put a boxed sub in there... and have the setup be flexible as above.... how do I do this?

Also, what do I run with sub? Basically want to put speakers in the backboard area. So:
- 6x9s?
- Split system?
- Coaxial?

Also, it being a mini, do I need to think about power output from my alternator?

Also want to use a tablet for the music... don't listen to radio at all, so don't need it. What would I need to take the music output to something like a amp/crossover/or whatever is necessary?

Subs are heavy, are you sure you want to keep moving them?

I think split kit is the best. Regarding the tablet idea, touchscreens are kinda a mess tbh, you rather have physical buttons on your head unit.
I recommend a head unit with Bluetooth that you can use a phone or tablet to pair with and you can use any streaming service like Spotify or Deezer.

Would the split system still be best if the sub is not present?

Was my thinking as well

Pioneer 3way 500w me thinks

Will get bluetooth radio
Good choice. They use 90w nominal power which is too much for most head units. You will need a small amp to get the best out of them.

You will need a fuse between the battery and your amplifiers.

Your alternator should be fine with a small amp and the 6x9s. As soon as you add subs and a big amp, it will definitely struggle. It was only engineered for a small engine.

hmmm, maybe i should start with the 6x9s and small amp... since it's a small car.... let's see how it goes... can always add sub later

6x9s are very capable if wired correctly. Subs will eventually kill your battery and alternator.

The added surface area of an 8" limpet speaker or a 7x10 might give you a little more bass than a 6x9 if you have the space.

cool.

now to draw a little diagram and make a list of things to buy :D

Just to throw a spanner in the works

There are reasons you dont find 6x9's at sound competitions. You will have a much better sounding system if you put splits up front and a sub in the boot.

For a mini 2 6inch splits up front and a 10 inch sub would sound awesome if you do a good install and buy qaulity components. If you like more rap and other music with lower bass notes a 12inch sub might be better.

With 6x9's you will always struggle with the sound stage and other issues.
