In a Vinyl, plastic and rubber care spray for car cleaning (interior spray), can I use it on my soft touch (finish) plastic dash? Spray contains plasticizer? (is that a good/bad thing?) (safe to use on soft finish of polo 2010 dash?)

Also is the Shield Cleaning product range good?

Car cleaning & Detailing advice?

Check out www.crazydetailer.co.za, they've got great products and a cool forum as well, really helpful guys on there that will give you the best answer regarding car care products. Have a look at the detailed cars in the forum showroom to see what products the guys are using and what results they get

If you can find it, look for 303 aerospace. Crazy detailer has it. Stuff will make you smile as it works a treat and you don't need to use large amounts of it. Spray onto an applicator, or use a microfiber.

Best would be to test on a small, inconspicuous spot. Wait a few days before evaluating the results.

This ^^. The CD owners (Pravin and Neil) are really clued up, and there's a guy in KZN called lawrence on the forum that REALLY knows his stuff. Pretty sure that between the 3 of them, you'll get your answer.

Thanks for the kind words people. I (Pravin) am on this forum as well but socially, so I do tend to stay away from any sort of "punting" as I hate spammers as much as the next guy.

As mentioned above the 303 AeroSpace protectant is superb stuff. The problem with the cheaper local stuff is most of the interior dressings contain a cheaper grade of silicone which has a detrimental long term effect on plastic surfaces. Not a fan of the Shield retail line but their Professional line has some nice products which we actually have listed on our site.

Another favourite of mine is the Collinite #855 which can be used on leather and vinyl. It leaves a super matt finish which looks OEM.

If you have further questions, I would be happy to assist.

Love the collinite range as well.

Any chance of a Cape Town store anytime soon Pravin?
Couriers and post office really making it difficult to get goodies and a walk in like your joburg store would be superb.
Sorry to the OP for the hijack.

Black&Decker dust buster for the inside, BP machine wash for the outside.

Unfortunately there are no plans to branch out to CPT just yet. We have been advising most of our customers to go with Courier instead of SAPO due to the inconsistency. Couriers have been very reliable and fairly cost effective.

But I hear you, having a walk in store and chatting directly has no real substitute.

No worries, but thanks for the feedback and keep doing what you do.

Machine wash is not as bad for your car compared to other washes, and if you are lazy like me, it's a no-brainer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZjWkB_q2lE (good choice of test cars there)
The dust buster is the only part I do myself. It find that no one cleans the inside of my cars as well is I do. Since I spend most of my time inside the car I really don't care too much about the outside. For every 10 interior vacuums I give it there is about 1 outside wash.
