One of the articles discusses some vulnerabilities (and how some researchers were able to exploit them) in the authentication used by the listed manufactures. The article about massive security flaw

I was photographing shabeens a few weeks ago when someone managed to get in my car full of cameras, laptop, studio lights and even a generator - still haven't figured out how they did it.

In case you're curious they took just about the only thing in there that wasn't insured. A cooler bag with a half eaten bacon sandwich in it :o

I think you should leave photography. Your sandwiched must be awesome if they forgot to take anything else. :p

It was an awesome sandwich, but I can't take credit for that. I picked it up from a farm stall en route and was saving the other half. :o

I probably should have claimed for it on my insurance :p

You can consider yourself very lucky. What if they took your SD cards with your photos. :eek:
 
You can test it yourself. My car can be jammed that's why I always double check that its locked.

SD cards are for amateurs :p

I'd have been in more of a pickle if they'd taken my cameras after driving three hours to get there but apparently bacon sandwiches are a hot item there.

Yeah, spending two weekends on location in the various locations was a bit of an eye opener. Turned out to be really enjoyable though.
 
Beat you! I've been insured for 43 years and never had a claim denied.

However, I have come across some very dubious clauses e.g. if you're towing a pleasure boat and your car gets hijacked, the car is covered but not the boat albeit the boat is comprehensively insured.....

So quick and with the correct timing that prevented me from hearing the other door open. I was travelling alone. I checked the footage as I parked and the guy was nowhere to be seen. He also did not return to the vehicle from the front while I was parked. From the sound recording, one can hear when I closed my door and a split second after the rear door being opened to prevent the locking of the vehicle.

If I did not check if it was actually locked, I am sure I would have had some stuff missing from my vehicle when I returned, i.e. laptop that was on the floor behind the drivers seat.

Why do you say that? You still have to physically lock the car by either pressing the lock button on the key fob, or the button on the door handle.

Ok, then it is permissible.

If LaraC has one and thinks she can't confirm that the vehicle is locked it seemed to indicate otherwise, do all keyless entry systems work like what you described?

Still a small risk though, then any crim can still pull the handle while pressing that door handle button, after you had locked it but your key is still close enough and it might unlock the door, right?
