Yoh from the recommendations, its basically check the entire car, failing which get new tyres and rims, failing that replace most of the front suspension, failing that buy a new car.

Hi everyone,

I currently own a 2016 Mercedes A200 Urban. I seem to be having an issue where the car shakes (I can feel it on the steering and and where my feet are). It happens between 115-140km/h.

I done the following to see if it’s an issue:

1) I checked the rims to see if there were buckled. One was, but it got fixed
2) balanced all wheels
3) done an alignment
4) checked all wheels and they seem in good condition

The car moves smooth below 115km/h. I took the car to the Mercedes dealership and they tell me that it’s just the roads, but I drive the same roads almost every day and I’ve been noticing this issue occurring and getting worse. I even had one of the mechanics drive with me to feel and even then, he says it’s hard to diagnose.

They’re going to take the car in to check again in a weeks time, but it will be the 4th time I’m sending the car in and I’m worried they will give the car back to me again saying there are no issues.

Does anybody know what the problem may be?

Hey there! I don’t mean to highjack this thread but I’m having the same issue on my Suzuki Celerio, under similar conditions to yours. Please do share when you’ve found a solution to your problem. I’m hoping your solution will apply to me as well since both our cars are FWD.

Update: So I went to BestDrive in Midrand today and told them about my issue. The rear wheels had dead spots since I don’t drive that much lately and the balance on all 4 wheels was off.

Glad to report the vibrations are now gone when I’m driving at the national speed limit. Fortunately the dead spots were easily corrected.
