There are not a lot of good options under R50k, at any age ... They may not be glamorous but I'd drive one of them over some ghastly old Mazda 323 any day.

I'm currently driving a Kia Picanto 1.0 as my rental car, while they fix my Double Cab... and I must say I'm suitably impressed as a small city runabout, its a pretty decent car.

If I was to buy something of that nature I would buy the 1.2l version though, the 1.0l is just a little underpowered....
