Carling Cup

How is that starting 11 lighties?
Also that team probably cost close to double of what blackburn's starting 11 do.
 
What a lineup - it must have been take your kids to work day in Manchester...

Indeed. The first 30 mins were pretty poor but it turned into quite a game in the end. 5-3 makes it look at lot closer than it actually was.

At 4-1 Blackburn had completely given up. They were there for the taking. Then we just went to sleep for the rest of the 2nd half. I can imagine Fergie would not have been too happy. Even if it is just the kids in the Carling Cup.

Isnt that 1st team players?

Indeed. Remnants of our game against Hull in there. Went to sleep for a few minutes and Benny brilliantly took advantage. When he came on they looked so much better. Shoulda nailed them 5 - 1.

Yeah, I really wish we would learn to bury teams when we are so in the ascendency. Hull could have been like 8-0 and so could this.

So you think Nani, Tevez and Anderson are... old? A kid by any other name is still young, wether they are first team players or not...

Young would be arsenal's team who they fielded for the carling cup (average age was 19).Average age in the manchester line-up is MUCH older,

You got some players in the Manchester line-up who could have fathered some of the arsenal players.

I dont consider Tevez to be young. Him, Nani, and No goal Anderson have so much experience.

When i think of youngsters i think of Arsenal's team. I dont consider Messi or Cesc to be young as well, even tho they are 21 - they have been playing first team footy since they were 17.

Well, in all fairness, the only youngsters were Anderson, Nani, Possebon, Gibson and Rafael. That's half the team.
 
Nani/Anderson have been playing 1st team football for about 4 years how can they be classed as "youngsters" and both play for their national sides.

Wow, is that what is being debated? :p

Point is, it was Blackburn's 1st team, and a mixture of United's reserves and youth team. As it shoud be.
 
Seems like United fans also wish they had a talented young team like Arsenal.
They think that their ''lighties'' beat Blackburn.

This is the Arsenal team:

Fabianski, Hoyte, Song Billong, Djourou, Gibbs, Wilshere (Bischoff 76), Randall, Ramsey, Merida, Simpson (Lansbury 76), Vela (Fonte 84).

Subs Not Used: Mannone, Coquelin, Ogogo, Frimpong.

Now that is Lighties ;)
