Carnivore diet

Yeah any media that says mainstream media won't cover this is best ignored.

I see the founder of this diet has now swore off it. It does seem to work for adherents though. It doesn't work for some however. Suppose it's like vegetarians saying they never get sick once they swore off meat.
Maybe some vegetarians got healthier not from ditching meat, but by avoiding junk food. Let's not brush off their claims too quickly!

I used to enjoy his videos but since the facial expressions and him talking from what looks like a dungeon I just can't anymore.

Here's how carnivore stops you from overeating, all without any need to count calories or portion control:

- Eliminates trigger foods
- Eliminates addictive foods
- Stabilises blood sugar
- Balances hormones
- Provides unmatched nutrient density
- Ketones, protein and saturated fat all promote satiety

Intuitive eating doesn't work. Unless you get rid of the modern foods that fail to stimulate satiety.

A recent randomized controlled trial provides compelling evidence of the superior anabolic effects of animal protein over plant-based alternatives. The study compared muscle protein synthesis responses to consuming 4 oz of beef versus an equal amount of soy. The results were clear: a single 4 oz beef patty significantly stimulated MPS more than an equivalent SBMA patty. By a lot.

Interestingly, even doubling the SBMA serving to 8 oz only matched the anabolic effect of the 4 oz beef patty. This underscores a critical point: while plant proteins may contain similar protein quantities, their essential amino acid (EAA) profiles and bioavailability fall short of animal proteins, particularly when it comes to supporting muscle growth and repair.

The key takeaway is that beef protein rapidly elevates EAA levels in the bloodstream, resulting in a stronger and faster anabolic response. In contrast, the EAAs from soy undergo more extensive metabolism in the liver, reducing their availability for muscle protein synthesis. Even when consuming double the quantity, soy-based proteins still don’t offer the same anabolic efficiency as animal-based options.

This study highlights why protein quality matters and why animal-based proteins remain unmatched in promoting muscle growth and maintenance.

From Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World:

"The Chinese noted with surprise and disgust the ability of the Mongol warriors to survive on little food and water for long periods; according to one, the entire army could camp without a single puff of smoke since they needed no fires to cook. Compared to the Jurched soldiers, the Mongols were much healthier and stronger. The Mongols consumed a steady diet of meat, milk, yogurt, and other dairy products, and they fought men who lived on gruel made from various grains. The grain diet of the peasant warriors stunted their bones, rotted their teeth, and left them weak and prone to disease. In contrast, the poorest Mongol soldier ate mostly protein, thereby giving him strong teeth and bones. Unlike the Jurched soldiers, who were dependent on a heavy carbohydrate diet, the Mongols could more easily go day or two without food. "

People with mental health disorders sooner or later try a Carnivore Diet to try and improve their mental health. Surprisingly, many people who give Carnivore a try notice a drastic improvement in their mental health. But, how is this possible? What could possibly explain why eating only meat improves mental health? This short video reveals the burden removed from you when you eat meat only, and all the things given to your brain by a carnivore diet.

Month 11 for me. My wife still asks me "What are you having for supper?"

Steak!!

(Ketovore based deviations on weekends include some nuts, some 85% Lindt and some cheese)
My cast iron pan (1 box of 4, TA assumed it was one pan, will send the other 3 back on Monday) arrived on Friday, spending the weekend seasoning it. It's cooling now on coat 2.

Keen to try it out on the induction plate (bought the cheapest one on TA a while back, you have to get used to it, I'm only now not burning the popcorn):

Looks like you off to a great start....

Make sure you get enough electrolytes because the shift away from carbohydrates can lead to rapid fluid loss and electrolyte depletion.
