gonna get some traction with this thread I reckon,

so I was helping a Cousin of mine shop for a car, saw so many adverts for carvertical, bla bla, history check wah wah

seriously doubted it actually shows anything as our vehicle license and NATIS database is a mess with clones and written off cars being sold as certified pre owned.

she still wanted it, so we went in, paid almost ZAR558 for 2 credits 😱
okay, got the VIN number of a car, car vertical took a long long time to load and eventually said, "were sorry the report isnt as useful as we advertised, here's your credit back, for ANOTHER check on something else," okay WTF, maybe its this particular car she was looking in to at auto-pedigree, Polo 1.6 tsi in this case

tried with another VIN, this one owned by her one Friend, had it since new, a Opel corsa Lite 2008 1.4, FSH the works.

same deal, "were sorry were stupid and useless, here's your credit back, cause were dumb and worthless"

2 cars, both not working, jumped on their support line, complained and today got a email back saying a long winded apology and we only show what we have, and we will refund you in 1-3 business days,

so what is the deal with all these so called influencers pushing their trash on us, I noticed there was a prominent option in the support line for collabs and media, and maybe thats how they make money, and not actually offering anything of value and simply refunding people when and IF they complain, and swiftly moving on to the next Sucker,Mark,Customer.

hopefully somebody reads this post and wont fall for this trash ever again.

shame transunion/AA autocheck isnt operating anymore, really found that useful and cheaper.

To be fair those services and sponsorships are aimed at first World countries....

It's not a scam, it just doesn't work on this country because we have an inept government, plain and simple..

Yeah I simply never expected it to work in SA.

Have never seen it punted by a local car person, so not sure why you expected it would work here?

It’s very much UK based.

Maybe try vindocs.com they actually seem to list SA support and will identify the car at least to confirm the VIN works before you pay.

just commented on that video, total scam, finally one person says so, unlike ,car guy, who is always pushing this scam onto people.

problem is in this country we dont have annual roadworthy tests, compulsory insurance or databases that talk to one another.

I mean how do I know if the car I have has a tracking device, how can I find that out? must I contact netstar and cartrack ect each in turn to find out?

same with datadots, how can I know?

we have dozens of databases but no unified view of all of them.

so how can carvertical launch in SA without any local partners?
