Cash deposit charges

I have probably made 4 cash deposits in the last 15 years. Even if it was 5% I wouldn't give a ****.

The OP should probably realise that its 2015 and electronic means should be preferred. He is probably the type who keeps cash under his bed or throws all savings into Krugerrands.

So just because you don't work with cash, it makes others backwards (as implied by you thinking they keep money under their bed) who do?

Banks don't like handling physical cash. Its expensive and a pain in the ass. So they make it expensive to discourage people from using it. Simple.

This. It's expensive. Really expensive.

I work in a world where cash rules. Electronic banking is not even remotely an option and way to risky.
Hiding cash under the bed is so 60's anyway.....I stuff it into the walls ;)

edit: Oh and i DO use electronic banking for everything else and beyond

What world is this where cash rules?

What is your trade?

Just a tip for anyone who has to deposit cash regularly and doesn't want to pay deposit fees. Find a business owner that requires a lot of physical cash like a scrap yard that pays for scrap in cash and then build a relationship with them until you trust them by giving them cash and making them instant eft you with small amounts at first. That's what we do. Good relationship going to over a year now. He's saving and we're saving.

If i need to do a cash deposit i only pay 70c per r100 at capitec..... that is only r70 for r10 000... not much i say

That's only for atm deposits, it's a higher rate in the branch. Not all Capitec branches have note accepting atms. You are also.limited to 50 notes and the machines often jam or reject notes.

Banks just rip consumers off. I have a Fnb platinum cheque a day credit card and pay R200 fees per month. Last week I wanted a bank statement and Fnb charged me R78.

As most members will telk you, don't complain. It's due to high costs, it's good for you, free market and what not.

Money laundering for the win lol

Can't imagine having to pay for a statement, especially having to print one when there is internet banking.

So no credit provider has asked for a printed and stamped statement from you?
None. Sometimes I need proof of account so the bank emails me a letter. Its free though.

What do you need stamped statement's for? A PDF statement is considered an original.

Don't mind me then, you obviously use some other type of rarefied credit providers
