Cell C and MTN keep quiet on poor network quality

Here in Richmond,

Vodacom's network is rubbish, Calls always drop and you can't hear half the time.
MTN never gives problems
Cell C is some what in the middle, most days we have no problems but there is the odd drop out here and there.

In Sandton CBD during the day Cell C internet does not work most of the time. You only get drops of data at a time.

Work in Edenvale, live in Gallo Manor, also visit Bryanston / Fourways frequently. Signal with Cell C is absolutely pathetic. Calls constantly drop, especially when driving Edenvale to Gallo Manor. Data is a whole other issue, struggle to get connection at all locations. My iPhone 4s will show 2/3 bars + 3G but has no connection, will then cut to 0 bars.

Funny thing is, was in Harrismith and Zinkwazi last month, full 3G signal constantly.

Off course they are mum. The Regulator is not taking them to task about it so why should they care?

I can see how this is going to play out.

Cell C: "We're upgrading our network"

Customers: "Thanks for the great deals - We're porting to VC when our contracts expire"

Cell C's network quality is an absolute joke. I took a contract out with them and I probably get about 40% of my calls coming through during peak hours. The other 60% I get an sms notifying me of a missed call. And internet never works during peak hours. This is in Midrand.

Actually going to see if I can get out of my contract.

Cell C data network is nothing short of PATHETIC these days. Hardly works at all. I'm in a mad rush to leave them as soon as I can.

I believe CellC when they say they are upgrading their network. Two of the four areas that had no data now have data again. Doesn't mean I have forgiven them for robbing me of 10 months of data bought and paid for but never delivered. That is still fraud.

CellC are a victim of their own popularity and did not act fast enough to relieve the congestion .
Last year the data was great now at peak times it is unusable.

Yep I can see this being true in the populated areas, lets hope they can make that 5 odd billion rand investment work for them,I'm fortunate that in the areas I frequent the network is great,I was in Klein Kariba this weekend(bela bela) and I was surprised to find where my brother in laws Vodacom phone had barely any edge reception, I was pulling out 7,8 mbps speedtests on Cell C.
