Vodacom veteran taking over as Cell C CEO

Cell C has appointed former Vodacom executive Jorge Mendes as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective 1 July 2023.

Mendes will take over from Douglas Craigie Stevenson, who resigned from the struggling mobile operator in March 2023 after a three-and-a-half-year stint.

Isn't Cell C basically a Vodacom MVNO anyway?

For voice, offer 480 minutes or as close to that amount, anywhere in SA for R100 or no reason to port back from MTN.

For data, do much better for "once off, 30 days" than all the low MB and GB offers in the screenshots.

These HCF Home Connecta Flexi rates for 30 days and the 180 days bundles are the best Cell C can offer, and I believe also the best value for money in SA.

I, along with others (perhaps you as well?) in this forum used to buy these when they had better pricing ; if I recall at one stage they offered 50 + 50 GB for R199.
..... or 25 + 25 GB ?

I prefer my current setup which is 80 + 80 GB for R249, but because we never seem to use more than 80 GB Telkom Anytime each month,, that rolls over for another 30 days giving 240 GB total.

Also, Cell C were far slower than Telkom where I am - 8 to 15 Mbps max down when I last used them vs. Telkom usually multiple times faster.

But thanks for your post.

Data pricing is made up and inflated.
I hope Cell C is bold.

There is a path to make this work.
