im in pta montana area and my signal use to be 4bars and 5bars at night, now for the last few days its been 3bars and even 2bars so wtf is cellc up to? and cheeps on disconnecting.
the fluctuations are pathetic.

@Cell_C, i've sent my details to you, thanks. i'll wait for a response and update this thread when i get it. hopefully once my issue is sorted, the other users in my area will be sorted too.

it's beyond frustrating now - it connects but no packets come down.

Hi limbah

sorry about the delay, i am on it and am getting info from network guys in connection with towers.
i will personally get back to to latest Monday morning

Regards
~AM~

Came on here because our speeds have been super slow at points recently also. We're in Century City, Cape Town area.

Signal can be >= -51dBm but download/upload is still appalling. Overall speed not even enough to make a Skype voice call.

Good to see its not just us though so hopefully they will fix it soon.

I did report them to the CPC. Thousands of people throughout the country bought "21,6 Mbps" Data Contracts and are not getting 10% of that. I think a refund is in order.

In PE on a black speedstick only getting gprs, something is telling me they upgrading my tower for the new service.... I hope.

i'll keep everyone posted with what happens my end. hopefully those from durban earlier in this thread are still reading.

Well i have been having serious problems of late with my speeds.
Generally get around 1 meg download and 0.03 meg upload, which makes it impossible to game with.
Last Tuesday a tech dude came around, checked signal strength, made a few calls, and all of a sudden i was wooshing along at 3-5 meg download and 1.7 meg upload. In short it was awesome!!

But alas it only lasted 5 days and now im back to the crawl.

I wonder if CELL C will be so kind and send a field technician to my area to actually check what's up with my tower. During the early hours of the morning I am able to download at around 5meg and during the day when the site is congested I am lucky to get around 2megs or so..

still no improvement - almost a month now of painfully slow internet.

@Cell_C, appreciate that you're trying but it's not fixing the prob. you said that you made contact with the senior network engineer - what did he say?

cheers

@ limbah, problem areas have been identified, especially in the Musgrave, Berea, Morningside.. just got confirmation that there are tests being done, and after the neccessary optimization have been carried out, the speeds will improve.. will keep ypu posted. -DM-

i am in Port Elizabeth and was happy with speeds,as off last its downhill all the way.keeps on disconnecting and only get edge when i at my home although it shows wcmda with about 90% strength signal but as soon as i connect it drops back to edge WTH is going.
cell c tech agent called me and says its my processor what a joke.
any one any ideas of how to fix this irritating problem?
