Cell C finishes switching off its towers

Cell C has announced that it successfully completed its network migration ahead of schedule.

The migration involves switching off all its tower infrastructure and handing over the building and operation of its cellular network to MTN.

They have switched me off. Porting away when my contract ends because zero reception as a contract customer. I assume they have negotiated a reduced QoS for Cell C contract subscribers on Vodacom.

They had the gall to call me and offer an upgrade while reducing my data allocation because I don't use it. I don't use it because I can't use it. Grrrr...

So CellC's business model is to be a MVNO, leasing spectrum to MTN/Vodacom and reselling MVNO to other companies.

Wonder how what the value of their remaining network is. Considering MTN is likely getting it for R400m.
It left MTN with an unpaid bill of R393 million over the past six months. On Thursday, MTN announced that it has written off R211 million of the amount, and is now “evaluating a sustainable solution to the network roaming agreement with Cell C”.

What's wrong with Cell C? I have a cell C prepaid Sim which I didn't use for more than a year, when I tried it just now it was still active.
