Cell-C Free calls useless

What a weekend, the Free calls continued. The majority is happy, who care about the manority (i'm afraid but there's no democracy on this one). lol

:D

lol, seems to be better or worse in some areas, depends on the congestion on your local tower I suppose. My one friend just said she's porting to Vodacom as soon as her contract's up in a month or so because she literally can't use her phone on weekends anymore. So not all good for Cell C unfortunately.

Is internet also free?
If so, then WOW, it keeps getting better.

No cellc's internet is R2.00 per Meg, to much for me. The emphasis here was on words that i like to see, "internet" because i am on the internet most of the time, and "free" because if i do not have to pay for it i like it. (free calls, free software,etc.etc. :)

:)

Hmm, always amazes me how people bitch and moan about stuff they get for free....

Ha! Usually i don't waste my time posting on forums cos i have better things to do. But this Cell C issue has really bummed me out. So much so that i actually wasted time setting up a profile so i could make a comment here. People aren't complaining about stuff they get for free. Well at least the way i see it is like this....

I am a contract member. Everything is going great (Well not actually, in general their service sucks) until Cell C decides they need more subscribers. Yay! So what do they do. They make this offer where people can go out and buy these prepaid cards and block up the network. So now all the contract subscribers sit like idiots with no network coverage and they get to pay for this too! My contract gives me free off peak minutes. So there is about 98 hours in the week where i can use them and half of that time is wasted on the weekends when their stupid network is down.

I can't even call Cell C themselves on their 140 number to tell them how bad their network is. I wanted to cancel my contract but they recon i gotta cough up 1500 to do this. hmmm.. guess they gotta make some more money to cover all the free calls they are giving to all the people who haven't been a subscriber for the last few years.

what a bunch of clowns.

Biggest problem with the free calls on weekends is that Cell C has cut access to VC roaming over weekends.
If you have Cell C tower nearby, you will not have much trouble, but go outside a town and you will have no access to Roaming on VC.

i was promised coverage and access to the VC network when i subscribed. i live on a farm where their is only VC, so now on a weekend i can not make a call.

I have sent complaint to ICASA and the ASA, will post their comments.

My Cell C phone is set to permanently roam on Vodacom. It works perfectly, even on weekends, however if I want to call a cell C number on the weekend I have to switch over to cell C network and it works fine.

i have confirmed with both VC and Cell C. you can not make a Cell C to Cell C call on a weekend through VC Roaming, this functionality has been disabled.
