Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

Good day gents, I have a Huawei B696 3G HSPA router. Not LTE compatible. Will it be possible to connect to the network using this router, at the lower 3G speed? Or does is work strictly on LTE only?

Anyone else’s been down past 2 days? Was working fine till yesterday. I have the 200GB and still have 133GB left of my cap. I have full 4G connection but no internet access. My account is with Axxess.

Thanks, so you rica before they deliver, and you can specify a different address for delivery?

delivery address can be anywhere, you still will have to show them proof of address for rica purposes..
 
Does anyone know the location of Cell C Towers in the Kraaifontein area? (Peerless Park West)
I've recently upgraded from a 4mb adsl package to the 50gb Cell C LTE-A deal. Average speed of my last 11 results are: 20.01 mbps.
However I have a buddy in Belhar ext 6 reaching speeds between 38-45 mbps!
Are these kinds of speeds possible in the Kraaifontein area on the Cell C network?
I think he is surrounded by towers though...

Yeah mine went down yesterday. I called in twice and they said it would be resolved in 15mins the 1st time but 2 hours later no dice. Then I called back and the helpdesk guy said they know about the issue and it's on IS side but the techs who are supposed to deal with it don't work on Sundays so he will notify them and they will respond when they have time...I went to bed and still had no internet. Didn't bother trying again this morning since I wont be home till after 6 this evening. I will try when I get home.

According to IS I am capped but on Axxess site I still have over 50gb left of my 100gb package.

I have the same problem, over the weekend I had 10gb left according to axxess but it seems like IS thinks I am capped. Axxess support loaded 1gb topup on my account and it started working again, but as soon as the gig was used my connection dropped again.

Thanks treebsd email sent. When I logged into the Axxess control panel this morning I saw that my data usage has gone from 10gb available to 1 available without being able to actually access the internet, even the data graph for the last two days are reporting near zero usage. :(

I wonder if someone at axxess is fidling their data usage reporting to better reflect the IS numbers.

Hi everyone, at the moment I have Telkom LTE, but at night (after 6pm) the ping gets out of control (140+ms). What is the ping on Cellc LTE like? Do they also throttle the ping into oblivion at a certain time?

I love the Telkom LTE because in off peak times I get like 70mb dl and 30 mb upload, but in peak times I cannot play any of my games. I have to create a hotspot from my MTN phone to play (with this my ping is <40 all the time).
 
Ping can't be throttled, it's tower congestion that's the problem. Buy cellc sim to test network before you buy the deal.

True true, with Telkom my DL and UL speeds are pretty high even in peak times, but geesh the ping sucks. This is also a known issue with Telkom, I know people in PE, Potch, Joburg, CT and me in Pretoria that has the same issue (at around 6pm the ping shoots through the roof).

Yep I had them load 5gb to my account while the dashboard still showed I had 5gb left. This was after it had showed that I had 50gb left but I could not connect. When my account was "capped" I checked on my phone and it showed I still had 50gb left. In fact it showed I had roughly 52gb left. Then over the next 2 days while my router was off and I have no connection to the internet that 52gb just disappeared...miraculously now the dashboard is showing that I used 48gb on one day. Not impossible I know but consider that I had no connection to the internet on that day from 3am in the morning. So basically I used 48gb in 3 hours...?

Something is very fishy with how axxess calculates the total on data usage, their data usage graph looks more in line with the data from IS, but it's a lot of hassle to sit and add up all the entries on the graph if I want to know my data usage.

Thanks treebsd for your assistance. Seems my account was capped even though the Axxess Data usage tool still showed me having +50gb available.

Their systems update so slowly that I got an email and sms each day for 2 days after I was already capped saying that I had reached 80% and 95% of my cap.
 
I think this has been the worst experience to date with an ISP, courier etc. All the parties involved in this offering is absolutely useless.

The package was not delivered for days, then delivered at the wrong address multiple times and they never phone back. RAM/Digital Planet is as incompetent as it gets.

Then once it finally arrived it just sat there with no service and still not working 2 days later. Tried all the APN suggestions as per this thread, double checked the coverage maps as some mentioned the Cell C and Axxess coverage maps are not the same and it looks like I am just outside Cell Cs coverage map but well inside Axxess's version.

Axxess is also extremely slow and IMO ignores any Cell C LTE tickets from their side in purpose.

It has now been 3 weeks since the order was placed and I have been billed since the 3rd and still no service on the 22nd.

I would not recommend this to anyone as nothing has worked and it has been some of the worst service from all parties involved I have ever had with this product.

Cancelling as soon as I can talk to someone at Axxess on Monday.

PS. Wish I came to check here before I decided to purchase this horrible service as I would probably have stayed clear of it and saved a lot of time and money by going somewhere else straight away. Lesson learnt!
