Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

How are your guys speeds with Cell C? Mine sucks and drops the connection every 30mins or so. My area is "covered" for LTE and Fixed LTE. Speed tested at about 9mb/s. I put a telkom one in and it was just under 40mb. From Cape Town.
Hey all, so i got the cell c 100g package through afrihost with a B315 router, i live in equestria, pretoria and the speed is not great, get max 7mbps during the early morning but during peak times it can drop to 0.3mbps, any advice?
I did a test for 2 days and can confirm that speeds are around what you guys mentioned excluding the 0.3Mbps.

Ordered 100GB axxess Cell C LTE Sim only, reading the recent feedback im really worried.

It appears to be hit or miss with the speeds that you might get.Cell-C lte coverage, lte speeds and service are far from being consistent.

I'm confused.
How can the other 19 hours of the day be off peak?
Can you please direct us to the Rain deal you are referring to, I checked their site and cant find it

Thanks, I have thought about that, It's just the issue of having to wake up at 11pm to switch the Sims, I wish they had dual SIM routers

Easiest is possibly just two LTE wifi routers with two separate networks. Otherwise, if you're tech savy enough, you could run the "ROOter" openwrt firmware on a suitable router, with two USB-type LTE modems plugged in. This firmware supports load balancing with multiple internet sources and rules to determine how the balancing is done. Not sure if a "timed" rule exists in the GUI but again, if you're tech savy enough you could script it yourself.

Dear Park@82

Thank you for contacting Cell C.

Please note that currently there isn't away that you can test the coverage as we do not have any prepaid Fixed LTE SIM cards.

Dear Cell_C

Don't they all rely on the same network infrastructure? Or why can't you test LTE reception with a normal prepaid sim (provisioned for LTE)?

Kind regards

Hi Cell_C

Can you confirm if the sim-only "data democracy" deals are perhaps available month-to-month?

Kind regards

It is yes, most ISP's offer it month to month, I am currently with Axxess on the 100GB Cell C LTE month to month package.

I'm referring to cell c's own data democracy deals (not the Cell C / IS deals available through 3rd party ISPs). By the looks of it, the sim only deals are about R60pm cheaper if you get it direct from Cell C.

Ah I see,

No looks like it is only on a contract basis. Will check T's and C's

I use to average 30Mbps consistently with fairly ok signal, signal improved a lot but speed went down a lot at the same time
