Cell-C / IS "fixed" LTE

I checked my usage now on their website and supposedly I've used 6.6Gb already today of the new month's allocation. Doesn't make sense. I think this may somehow be "beyond the cap" use for January which they now deduct in one fell swoop. I've heard that Axxess/ISP's doesn't have live cap monitoring and is dependent on Cell C to provide the usage data. It may even be in their T&Cs that some deductions may be made after the fact.

My January 50Gb ran out 3 days early, which I found odd... but it has happened once before but generally not. I run a bandwidth monitor on my router, which reported ~45Gb used. I think the router normally over-estimates rather than under. Its also very unlikely that I went over by more than 1 or 2Gb (our typical daily use) unless Cell C was reporting usage days later...

Well... according to their dashboard I already used 32GB of my 100GB allocation. Clicking on "view data usage" shows a usage of only 1.6GB for this month, which is also what my router is reporting.
I doubt it is because of above cap usage as I still had more than 10GB of my 100GB allocation remainging last night at 23:00.
I logged a ticket online with Axxess early this morning, but am still waiting for a reply.

Just saw this notification on the Axxess web site:

"We are currently experiencing issues updating Cell C data, the amount of used and available data is reporting incorrectly. We are actively working with our upstream provider Internet Solutions to resolve the issue. We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time."

And i woke up to find I had been billed R349 instead of R219 for the 50GB promo offer Axxess where offering existing clients till end March.

Emailed them as soon as I could ( didn't want bounce charges on my bank account and whining emails demanding payment) - also chatted with an agent on online via IM who was as helpful as a wet wriggling fish but fortunately received an updated corrected invoice an hour ago.

Can't these nitwits get anything right, or is month end always #ISPEqualsChaotic

What are speeds do you achieve on Cell C FIXED LTE package? Thinking about signing up with Axxess or Afrihost with the B618 router. Thanks

Wait what...

I have been paying R349pm for 50gb since I signed last year with axxess. What is this R219pm deal?

Axxess wants people to move onto this deal as if their towers aren’t congested enough.

If you sign up for the 20GB deal for R219 they will give you 20GB plus an additional 30GB for “free”. Totaling 50GB.

I got 20 to 30mbps sometime ago. Tested now with fast.com and got 3mbps. Cant say that I noticed a general slow down - maybe its just current issues. My feeling is speeds are heavily dependent on your location/closest tower/tower congestion. From what I read on this forum the best speeds come from pta. The worst from Durbs.

Almost but not quite as tempting. Only until 31st March, then reverts back to 20GB for R219

Yap. Actually want to leave this deal because the network is just terrible. I just can never stream on it in the evenings. I am already on the unlimited rain for R250 which works flawlessly everyday. But I need something between 6-11pm

Having excellent speeds tonight.

Honestly bad deal when compared to the Telkom Uncapped deal and the Rain Mobile deal

This bad

  • FUP - Up to 12Mbps until 200GB, then up to 6Mbps until 350GB, then up to 3Mbps for the rest of the month - resets on 1st of each month
