Cell C MegaBonus offer

Slowly getting disappointed with Cell C...following the tactics of Vodacom and MTN:

Voice calls will be billed at 2.5c per second, SMS at 50c, and data at R1.00 per MB. All unused bonus value expires after two days, at midnight.

Like it: load a R10 voucher. Use it to purchase 1GB night data. Use remaining R20 to find your torrents and queue them before 1AM. Sleep. Wake up to 1GB torrented porn.

So to get the "free" airtime you pay R1.50 per minute instead of R0.50 per minute...
Currently: R10 gives you 20min of talktime with no expiry. (www.cellc.co.za/cell-phone-prepaid/50c)
MegaBonus: (R10 + R20) = R30 gives you 20min of talktime with 2 days expiry. (www.cellc.co.za/megabonus)

As far as I understand it, you will still get your 20 min talk time with no expiry. With megabonus, you will now have an ADDITIONAL 20 minutes to use within 2 days... Correct me if I'm wrong

Wish they would just go back to the days where you get airtime and data for the amount you purchased, not this new 7 day expiry crap. As for this offer, whats the use of bonus data if they charge R1.00 a MB instead of 15c like the normal bundles? So if I recharge for R100 now, I get the R100 airtime and 200 MB data or another 67 minutes which expires after 2 days? Some of us want to recharge just once a month or so and not worry about expiry dates, is that too much to ask for?

Yep unfortunately you are correct this new "promo" with higher rates equates to Vodacom and MTN type tactics of over complicating things to pull the wool over customers eyes.

Disappointed.Really Cell C is this the road you want to go down.....

Voice calls are R1.50c On-Net/ Off-Net and Fixed lines. Not R2.50c as the article suggests. Please see Cell C website for correct info. *DM*

The article is correct.

2.5c/s equates to R1,50 per minute.Still a rate 3 times the norm on Cell C prepaid which is 50c per minute.Drop this stupid Vodacom/MTN type marketing campaign now rather don't wait for three months even.

I think Cell C thinks theirs 100 seconds per minute:D.

The only true MegaBonus for me will be being able to use my data during the day when I want to. Not a case of lets hope their is some data throughput.

+1million
But they have that also ... the 50c option. Loving it. No free, no bonus, no expiry, I just get what I paid for.
Make sure you buy a data bundle though ... OOB is MegaShark :p

Damnit, can they just stop changing their tariffs every month. Didn't even know about this 50c thing. I'm still on the supercharge thing (replaced by Megabonus?) and saw the 79c, which looked meh to me anyway. But I'm gonna switch to this 50c deal now. The last supercharge stuff was ridiculous. Recharge with R100, get like 600 MB data and 6 hours on net call time but its only valid for 7 days, wtf?
