Cell C network downtime

Not sure if its related but was in Cape Town for most of today, city area, and battled to get a signal on my HTC and my wife as well on her iPhone. Signal was on and off the whole time.

Had an old HP IPAQ Voice Messenger phone I keep in the car and placed my sim in it and had a good signal the whole day but problem persisted on the HTC and iPhone so was not sure whether it was Cell C or not.

Can say one thing, I'm at the point to port to TM. Been with Cell C for going on two years now but seems like they are just not able to deliver as they should. Lots of talk but no walk.

Update:

Cell C services are now fully restored in Cape Town and surrounding suburbs. The final sites were restored this afternoon and by 5pm drive tests and other service tests confirmed that the network was stable in the area. Cell C thanks all its Cape Town customers for their patience in this and the company again apologises for the inconvenience.

I've been with cell c for a similar period. I even got most of my close friends to port. Worked out with the supacharge benefits.
I ported to TM on Friday. I have a small signal issue at home, so far everywhere else I've been the signal is great and even at home it is much better than cell c.

Stable? Maybe, but extremely slow from around Cavendish Square. A customer of a few years but I think it is time to port.

Rondebosh East Cape town both our phones are down still mine is showing as roaming but will not make a call the other one is showing cell c but just times out when trying to dial a number.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

The old story "If its to good to true - etc" = 79 cents comes with its penalties = Cheaper is not always better. You get what you pay for.
